I read your posts because I was forced to go natural after having hair loss due to a medical condition. I was told to not use any chemicals so the natural process began. I started searching for ideas and help through facebook and stumbled on you page. I enjoyed your blog on natural styles https://shakaranaturaltips.com/category/hairstyles/natural_black_hairstyles, because I had major breakage it gave me ideas and ways to style my hair and even styles to try on my nine year old daughters natural hair.

Since going natural I’ve searched for blogs for natural women. I was and addict to creamy crack ( perm ) and I have been free for almost a year. When I ran across the blog on natural deodorant, I was hooked! I’ve been searching for some not only for me, but my sons as well. I want them healthy. so my link is https://shakaranaturaltips.com/natural-skin-care-2/natural_deodorant…. I live in New Bern, Nc

I read your blog because searched for health tips and Natural hair tips all on one blog site was not common for me to find. The blog you posted about itchy scalp and bald patches grab my attention and I didn’t want it to let go! https://shakaranaturaltips.com/natural_hair_skin_care/homemade-recipes/itchy-scalp-bald-patches Your blog gives ideas and tips that I always asked but no one really gave a straight answer. Love your blog! I live in North Chesterfield, VA 🙂

I had joined a Natural Hair group on FB and upon deciding to attend your upcoming event on Natural hair i was redirect to your blogg site and i started reading some of your bloggs, at that time i was only CoWashing my hair, I have never liked shampooing my hair because it always left my hair feeling really brittle and tupperware-squeekey-clean (all my natural oils stripped) then i saw your blogg absolutly No Shampoo https://shakaranaturaltips.com/natural_hair_care/sulfate-free-shampoo-natural_hair_care/sulfate_free_shampoo. And it was nice to know that i wasn’t alone in my disdaine for shampoo. Recently i have purchased and used Black Soap from Ghana and i must say your blogg is spot on when you talk about black soap, the ingredient list is word for word the same, the location in which the black soap is from, and the fact that it works well. LOVE this Black Soap Organic Shampoo

I learned a lot of ways to treat my dry hair and have been inspired by woman who also posted pictures and comments, o am now 9 months natural with no heat or chemical. I am thankful for all the resources you give and the fact that you let other naturalist give advice as well is very helpful, keep up the great work us newbies really appreciate it 🙂

I’ve read many of your blogs, but always enjoy the ones about different hairstyles. My sisterlocs are past my shoulders so it’s sometimes hard to maintain curls after a few days. I like the simple bantu knot that I sometimes wear for multiple days. Fortunately, at my place of employment, wearing my hair a certain way is not an issue. But at 40 years young, I would do what I want any way. – Thanks for all the insight and information this year. Here is the blog I referenced earlier. https://shakaranaturaltips.com/uncategorized/curly-hair-styles-bantu-knot

I locked my hair 3 1/2 yrs ago and have learned everything from styles, to apple cigar vinegar benefits ect, from the internet. Thank you for taking time to educate those who may want to consider being natural but have no idea about where to start.

I connect with your blog via facebook as I was introduced to it by a friend who was sharing pages of natural mentors like yourself and she said to follow you as you are our very own sister. And truely I your hair type was most like mine. I have been natural for years but never carried it without braids so learning styles like bantu knots is helping me learn how to carry my hair as it is, beautifully https://shakaranaturaltips.com/uncategorized/curly-hair-styles-bantu-knot. Although since I’m doing them myself (not found any natural hair stylist around here (Help! If anyone knows one)) they are not so neat to be taken out so I use them as twist outs.

    City: Laois, Ireland.

      January 2, 2013 at 5:16 am

Hi Adebisi, yes my sister is my biggest fan and supporter lol I’m not sure of any natural hair stylist/salons in Ireland at the moment, but in the UK [London] these are a few:
      1. Aveda – select salons
      2. Adornment
      3. Eftal Natural Hair
      4. Morris Roots
      5. Purely Natural Hair and Beauty

For now, try to master 1 style [2 strand twists, bantu-knots, or twist-outs], then later on try something new. You can also find a natural hair meet-up or start one…this way you can support each other, share information and practice styles together.

My name is Aisha and I currently reside in Romulus, MI. The attitude toward natural hair in this area, while improving significantly, has never been as accepting as it should be. Long, flowing, straight hair is the desired style for most women and girls. I came across your page scrolling through my news feed on FB, and I immediately decided to follow! Not only have I learned that there is more versatility possible with my natural hair, but you have taught me how beautiful it is. It’s no longer, “Oh, that’s cute to be a natural style,” when I go out. I get, “Your hair is AMAZING! How did you do that to your hair??!” Naturally, I direct all inquiries to your blog. It’s such a great feeling to be embraced, and even encouraged to be exactly how I am! My favorite post is your henna tutorial https://shakaranaturaltips.com/natural_hair_skin_care/homemade-recipes/henna-dye-for-hair. It is what first captured my interest. I’ve never been the same since. And that’s a good thing. Thank you for creating a place where we can just be ourselves and love one another for doing just that! Amariejohnson1982@yahoo.com

Happy new years!!!! In feb it will be three years . I started the natural journey because I’ve had trouble with my hair. From getting relaxers that made my scalp bleed, to getting reactions like burning of my scalp while in shower just from the steam …..and hair shedding. Im still searching for products to make hair do right and from being ashy and dry. My hair texture is like no other . I have spent tons of money on different products expecting whats promise and the results were not favorable….i just need help…..and then i found your site and i know there is hope!!! Thank you!!!

I’ve been following you on facebook and blos because your information is relevant and it helps me out a lot. I’ve learned so much from your blogs and facebooks posts as well as from many of you other followers. It’s like a slumber party on your page! I am from Muncie, IN-1 hr north of Indianapolis IN.
One of my fav blogs is the 12 Reasons to Chuck Commercial Deoderants/Antiperspirants-https://shakaranaturaltips.com/natural-skin-care-2/natural_deodorant. I have a lump in my right armpit and I thought it was cancerous breast tissue but it turned out to be an in grown hair from shaving…I have since then began using home remedies to lighten my armpit hair and decrease odor.

Thanks for bringing relevant and useful knowledge and information to the masses.

This is actually my first day reading your blog… My sister Anna suggested your site, just this morning, as a great site for natural hair! I have recently cut my big head of locks and am wearing a short cut, which I love. I began browsing your blogs and got stuck on the Bantu Knots, https://shakaranaturaltips.com/uncategorized/curly-hair-styles-bantu-knot. My daughters grew up in them 🙂 I am very visual, culture loving, and a semi-math addict so Bantu knots feed my fascination for all things fractile! Thanks for all the great info… looking forward to lots more natural hair knowledge 🙂 My city is Menlo Park.

Well, I started visiting your blog and Facebook page because it was very encouraging to me. I look at people who have been natural for 1-3 or how many years and they motivate you to keep going. The information you provided is also very sufficient, I think if it was not for your blog and Facebook page, I would have stopped the natural journey and gotten some Jerry curls or a relaxer :O… I am from Toronto, Ontario, Canada… Which also makes me love the blog and Facebook page even more… Everyone’s American or from the UK! Keep up the amazing work. God bless!
